Welcome Back Students!

We will be welcoming back all Caldwells this Sunday evening at our first dinner seminar of the year. We are looking forward to hearing what adventures were had this summer. Our theme for 2014-15 is the Heart of the Matter. We will explore ways to create rich and fulfilling lives by integrating the arts into our education and careers.

Caldwells in Ethiopia

Seven current Caldwells, one alumn, one Caldwell staffer, and one NC State Music professor spent all or part of Summer Session 2 in Ethiopia. The Caldwell students collaborated with Cherokee Gives Back (based in Raleigh and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) and their local Addis partners, and worked in various capacities in Addis Ababa for three weeks while also absorbing the culture of this beautiful country. After their work in Addis concluded the session continued with an eight day journey through northern Ethiopia, visiting amazing geographical and architectural wonders. Vistas that rival the Alps and the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls, some of the oldest churches, castles and monasteries in the world, fascinating cultural traditions, and warm and welcoming people made this an incredibly rich experience for all the participants. The travelers were Matt Anderson, Megan Broders, Daniel Buchenberger, Jillian Hendryx, Jen Murphy, Hannah Osborne, Rajan Singh, Shelley Smith, Jonathan Kramer and Liz Holt.
