Shack-A-Thon 2011

Once again, the Caldwell Fellows prepare for NC State’s annual fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity. Shack-A-Thon educates the campus and the larger community about the state of poverty housing in this country and abroad. During a single week, various NC State student groups construct a shack on the Brickyard, live in it for five days and nights, and raise money from passers by and other friends. The Caldwell Fellows program has done well in the competition to raise the most money in the past. Key fundraising strategies include creatively soliciting those who walk by for their spare change and encouraging the generous contributions of families, friends and alumni of the program.

Caldwell Legacy Dinner Honors Jerry Barker

This year our legacy dinner will honor Dr. Jerry Barker’s commitment to NC State and the Caldwell Fellows program as he retires from the University. Dr. Barker has long led our wilderness expedition: a personal development experience for Caldwell Fellows.

You may honor Jerry through a gift to the Mark Wagoner Fund which supports the Caldwell Wilderness Experience. Checks should be made out to The NC State Alumni Association with Mark Wagoner Fund in the ‘for’ line. Mail checks to:
