Four North Carolina State University engineering students received Outstanding Senior Awards at the 2013 College of Engineering Annual Awards Banquet on May 8. Two are Caldwell Fellows!

With award category and major:

Leadership – Alan Sheridan, Computer Science
Scholarly Achievement – Neil Shah, Computer Science
The awards are presented each year to outstanding seniors who are nominated by their academic departments.

Congratulations Class of 2013

Congratulations to the Caldwell Fellows class of 2013. We will recognize the seniors at a luncheon at the NC State Arboretum on Friday May 10. Immediately after graduation many of the seniors will embark on one of two Wilderness trips this year to the Sierra Nevada mountains and/or help facilitate the SATELLITE Camp right here on NC State campus. The annual camp introduces fifty high school students from around NC to majors and career options in Science and Technology.

Two Caldwell Fellows Scholars have received graduate research fellowships from the National Science Foundation. Brinda Monian, is a chemical engineering and biochemistry major, a Goldwater Scholar and a member of the University Honors Program. Neil Shah is a computer science major and a member of the University Honors Program. (Brinda is pictured lower right, Neil in middle).

And Brian Schuster (pictured on left) was recognized in the New Faces of Engineering – College Edition. Brian is using his engineering skills to advance renewable fuel production and develop a versatile sole technology for outdoor and military footwear.

This event is the last in our series of “Doing Better at Doing Good” events for the 12-13 academic year.

CCL Has Enduring Impact through the Caldwell Fellows

Whether it’s the executive who’s responsible for making sure your custom-engraved iPod gets to you in just three days or the critical care pediatrician working to save a child’s life, there is little question that Caldwell Fellows alumni are making an impact — in their workplaces, in their communities and around the world.

The Center for Creative Leadership has been an integral part of the Caldwell Fellows program and its impact since the beginning, a relationship that spans 40 years.

On January 2-4 we had 22 students at the Center for Creative Leadership for our annual capstone leadership training. Concurrently, we had a group of alumni in training as well (a one time event in cekebration of our 40th anniversary.)

The picture above shows Caldwell Fellow alumnus John Higdon (class of 83) and his daughter Summer, Caldwell class of 2014. They are pictured with Bill Sternbergh who has trained every class of Fellows at CCL for 40 years!
